Thereafter, with each passing year this school progressed and climbed to the pinnacle and simultaneously contributed in my career making as well . Ultimately, it was much revered and golden phase of my life .During my schooling , I learned not only academics but also more of personality development of a human being .This school actually denotes a culture of excellence, empowerment and enrichment. When I passed out from this school there was a meagre trend of sending the girl child out of station in our area especially in big cities like Chandigarh for pursuing higher education. But it was an upshot of this school’s study friendly ambience and Girls students friendly environment, my parents agreed and I secured admission in M.C.M College ,Chandigarh where I did my graduation and post graduation in Mathematics. When I was in my college, I really experienced how helpful my schooling was to compete with the outer world . Thereafter, when I completed my Post Graduation I was offered many Jobs but there was one appetency in my mind to serve as a Lecturer so that I can pay back to my school. As we were the from one of the earliest batches of the school , we witnessed the regular growth and every development that goes through the time of 15 years. Any praise would be lesser than it should be. From Nursery to +2 school provides us with every platform we need to survive in real world. From education to friendship , from doing projects and having fun together, from fighting for ourselves and standing for others , from professional work to emotional attachments with friends . Hello everyone, I express my deep sense of gratitude to my school and the whole M R Family ,where I spent my fourteen glorious years of academic journey . I joined this school in 2000 as a tiny tot and as the years got rolled the school had added quality in me with each passing year . The hard efforts of my teachers always provide the right mix of academics and scholastic and co-scholastic activities for a complete personality development of the students. Initially I was an introvert child but the comprehensive teaching, Inter House Opportunities for participation in Extempore, Speaking, Debating and special morning assembly and educational tours had brought the best out of me. The overwhelming efforts of dedicated teachers had helped me to score well in my board exams which induced me to stand at the first rank in my board exams which was my dream since childhood. I think preparing the children to succeed in this challenging environment demands a flexible and real world based approach to education. I am Aarti Singh, currently working as a Doctor at SDH Balachaur. Words will always fall short to describe the experience that I had at my alma mater, Mr Citi. This definitely was the golden period of my life where the seeds of career dreams and life- long ambitions were sown. I still remember the first day I stepped into the premises of this school at the age of 4,holding my father's hand, crying and pleading to stay home, totally oblivious to the fact that this school was going to be a stepping stone for my future ventures. Not only did Mrciti help me progress in my academics but it also groomed me well beyond the classroom. I am grateful for all the teachers who believed in me and encouraged me to go forth and explore the things that I am passionate about. The provision of excellent academics along with extracurricular activities like annual fests, singing classes etc helped me shape my overall personality. “ M.R. CITI – THE FOUNDATION OF MY LIFE ” I am pursuing my MBA Course from India’s one of the Premier Institute i.e. Indian Institute Of Management, Amritsar (IIM-AM). I strongly believe that today whatever I am is just because of my School and its Faculty members who had built my foundation so strong that I was able to secure my way to IIM out of 2.5 lakh students all over India. M.R. has given me ample of opportunities and proper guidance to knit the Confidence , Leadership , Public Speaking in me. There were many competitions that used to be organized very often to hone the overall skills and Personality of the students and I am happy to hear that now the level of events and participations has been evolved. My Teachers prepared me well that I managed to score 10 C.G.P.A. in my class 10th. presently hold the position of a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in Mumbai. My educational journey began at M.R. City Public School, and I subsequently enrolled at IISER Mohali to pursue a BS-MS degree with a specialization in Physics. During my time at IISER, I received the prestigious C.N. R. Rao Foundation Prize for Academic Excellence. Following my graduate studies, I embarked on a Ph.D. program in Physics at the International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy. I worked on String Theory and Quantum Gravity under the guidance of Prof. Atish Dabholkar. Presently, I am dedicated to advancing the frontiers of fundamental physics as a researcher at TIFR Mumbai, where my primary research interests revolve around the exploration of black holes within the framework of String Theory and holography.

I vaguely remember that I was in 6th standard when I felt that I like science more than Maths although I was good in both subjects. It was my grandfather who used to teach us human physiology. At that time I wasn’t able to understand much but I fell in love with the subject so i dreamt of becoming a doctor. As someone said “dreams are free but goals do have the cost”. My journey also had many ups and down but with support of my family, friends, and teachers it was comparatively smoother. So, in year 2017 I cleared NEET UG exam and entered MBBS life, a complete new world from dissection on cadavers in first year to attending operation theatres, assisting in deliveries to giving CPR. So, after countless sleepless nights, breakdowns, struggles and a lot more of new experiences here i am using ‘dr.’ as prefix and suffix- ‘proud daughter’ of my parents who raised me so well to accomplish my goals. No matter wherever I go, thinking about memories of M.R. Citi, it always feel special. It is not only a school but an emotion, the place where i spent 14 years of my life. Making lifelong memories with friends – Dr. Aarti (Partner in my journey), Harpreeet, Gursimran, Bharti, Vishali, Shinaya, Priyanka. Citi Public School, where I spent 13 beautiful years that were nothing short of extraordinary. Describing those cherished moments is a challenge, as they were filled with growth, achievement, and profound learning experiences. From excelling academically to becoming a national javelin thrower, this institution provided me with an unparalleled foundation. I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support of my teachers, particularly the esteemed Mrs. Madhu Aeri (Principal) and Shri Ram Ji Dass (Chairman), whose encouragement and guidance were instrumental in my success. Their belief in me was a cornerstone of my achievements. Upon completing my 12th grade in 2013, I pursued a BS-MS (Honors) in Microbiology with a specialization in Protein Engineering at Panjab University, Chandigarh. By divine grace and relentless effort, I graduated at the top of my class, earning distinction for my academic excellence. I vividly recall a pivotal moment in 2011 during my interview for the Head Girl position, where I naively declared my ambition to become a Cardiologist and prevent heart attacks. Little did I know that this aspiration would be the precursor to my future endeavors. In 2020, I joined the prestigious CSIR Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, as a Research Associate under the mentorship of Dr. Girish Sahni (former DG, CSIR & Secretary, Government of India). My research focused on pioneering fourth-generation clot busters, culminating in the development of a lifesaving, cost-effective “Streptokinase” injectable. This breakthrough has significantly benefited heart attack patients, saving millions of lives. My tenure at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research was marked by innovation and impactful contributions. I have recently relocated to Canada, where I am now working as an independent molecular biologist and researcher at a private biotechnology firm. My journey from an ambitious student to a leading researcher exemplifies the adage, “Dream big to achieve big.” Every step of the way has been a testament to the power of dreams, dedication, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

I completed Bachelors in Computer Applications from Panjab University Chandigarh in 2016 and joined Punjab Police as Sub Inspector same year. I continued preparations for Punjab Civil Services along side. I secured 12th rank in PCS 2018 and joined Punjab Police as Deputy Superintendent of Police in 2020. Since completion of training in January 2020, I have served as DSP in District Bathinda, State Special Operations Cell and now serving as DSP Sub Division Barnala since July 2022.

"Temple for some, school for many": Holds true for a place where all the childhood memories and grown up dreams begun. Yes, 'M.R. Citi Sr. Sec. Public School' is the place I'm talking about. For me, this journey begun in 2000 when I was about 2.5 years old. Those wonderful 15 years of school are still and will always be engraved in my heart. Immense love and support form the respectable teachers, Mrs. Madhu Aeri (Principal mam), Mr. Ravi Dutt Sharma (Vice Principal Sir) and of course Chairman of the school, Mr. Ramji Dass. So, after being nurtured for 15 years in school, I cracked NEET exam and got into a wonderful God-gifted journey of M.B.B.S. in 2016 at one of the most prestigious medical colleges; 'KMC Mangalore', Karnataka. After 5.5 years of this memorable journey, I came back home and worked in 'Fortis Hospital, Mohali' in Cardiology department besides preparing for MD entrance exam. Now cleared and qualified by 'His' grace, I'm waiting for counseling and finally getting admission into my dream branch. I have completed my PhD in the field of Medical Parasitology from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and now working as Research Scientist here. Working in the field of Malaria I have received Innovation academy award at Geneva, Switzerland for my innovative work as a young researcher. I have also been awarded by Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India for presenting my research at Seoul, South Korea. Japan Science and Technology, Govt. of Japan, had invited me to visit University of Nagasaki for Sakura Science Project. Under ESCMID-2024 I have been invited to visit Barcelona, Spain for exchanging research ideas and received Grant for the same. Recently I have been selected among top 5 researchers globally by John Hopkins Malaria Research Institute (Baltimore, U.S.A) for presenting my Research ideas during an event at Sarawak, Malaysia. To further elaborate my research work I am working on different aspects and collaborating at various national and international levels. Lastly, I would like to convey that no matter how big your dreams are, only thing that matters is how much passionate you are about them. After completing my studies, I returned to M.R. Citi as a Physics teacher from 2019 to 2021, this time under the insightful leadership of Ms. Ritu Batra and Mr. Ram Ji Dass. Walking the same halls where I once learned felt like coming full circle, and I was determined to inspire my students just as my teachers had inspired me. Every lesson was an opportunity to ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning. Today, I proudly serve as a Physics Instructor in a prestigious school in Dubai, carrying with me the invaluable skills and experiences gained at M.R. Citi. My journey into Law Enforcement has been anything but ordinary! I graduated from M. R. Citi Sen. Sec. School in 2015 and later in the year I moved to Canada as an international student. In the beginning, I dived into full-time studies while working various part-time jobs in factories or in events. Those early experiences taught me resilience, discipline, and a strong work ethic—qualities that became fundamental as I shaped my career. After graduating from college, I worked across various industries, from hospitality to security, always seeking new challenges and practical experience. In time, I joined the security staff at Edmonton International Airport and progressed to a supervisory role. The position provided me with invaluable experience in leadership roles, crisis management and a commitment towards public safety. In 2022, during a special exercise event at the airport, my skills were greatly appreciated and recognized by members of the Police Tactical Team, who encouraged me to pursue a career in law enforcement. Inspired by their support, I set my sights on a new goal. In 2023, I became a Correctional Peace Officer, dedicated to safeguarding my community. All in all, I can say that the core values I learned at this school have stayed with me since graduation. I have always been grateful for the dedicated teachers who worked tirelessly to provide guidance, support, and knowledge, shaping me into the person I am today. A Memorial Address: Through the Pen of Parents This is the story of Gaurav Khatana from batch 2008-09 of 12th standard. Gaurav did his entire schooling from 3rd standard to 12th standard from this prestigious institution. After one year of completion of his school education, he prepared for bank competitive exams alongwith with his college studies. He qualified the exam with his self-studies and without any coaching in his first attempt and joined Canara Bank on 21-02-2011. The whole credit goes to the school education and his teacher's arduous efforts that our son qualified the competitive exams with his self-preparation at the young age of 19 years. But as God always has his different plans, we lost our son in a road accident just after six months of his joining. He is always alive in our hearts. If today he would have been with us, I expect him to be serving the bank as Chief Manager. ----------- Heartfelt Note by Management M.R. This fascination led me to Punjab Agricultural University, where I pursued a Bachelors degree in Agriculture and a Masters in Entomology, allowing me to dive deeper into the world of insect science. As my journey continued, I followed my calling to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the U.S., where I completed my Ph.D. in Entomology. My research focused on uncovering the genetic mechanisms of resistance in sorghum against aphid attacks—a study that broadened my understanding of plant resilience and pest management. Each step in my academic path strengthened my resolve to contribute to sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship. Today, as a Scientist at Impetus Agriculture in Saint Louis, Missouri, US, I apply the knowledge and values I have gained to address agricultural challenges. My work focuses on biopesticide solutions, supporting the health of both crops and the environment. Reflecting on my journey, I realize how pivotal those early years were in shaping who I am today. Citi to doing cross border operations in armed forces, when I look back on this decade journey, I get filled with gratitude for the impact which my school has made in shaping me. I passed out in April 2014 and joined prestigious National Defence Academy. Credit goes to the teachers who shaped us, groomed us and helped us to achieve these heights which even we were not aware of.
